Inte t\u00e4nkte jag ge upp s\u00e5 l\u00e4tt. Inspirerad av n\u00e5gon amerikansk prepper (som jag inte kommer ih\u00e5g namnet p\u00e5) t\u00e4nkte jag att <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Biltong\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">biltong<\/a> l\u00e4t som en n\u00e5gorlunda l\u00e4tt sak att prova.<br \/>\n<div id=\"attachment_1425\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/urvaken.lan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/20160402_151211.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1425\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1425\" class=\"wp-image-1425 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/urvaken.lan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/20160402_151211.jpg?resize=300%2C169\" alt=\"20160402_151211\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1425\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Den delade r\u00e5a rostbiffen<\/p><\/div><br \/>\nF\u00f6r att g\u00f6ra en biltong kr\u00e4vs v\u00e4ldigt f\u00e5 r\u00e5varor. Du beh\u00f6ver ett stycke magert k\u00f6tt, g\u00e4rna n\u00f6t (jag anv\u00e4nde rostbiff). Vid torkningen tappar k\u00f6ttet ungef\u00e4r h\u00e4lften av sin vikt i form av v\u00e4tska som f\u00f6rsvinner, s\u00e5 dimensionera utefter det. Vidare beh\u00f6vs salt (utan jod), koriander, svartpeppar och vin\u00e4ger.<br \/>\n\u00c4r k\u00f6ttbiten tjock kan det vara bra att dela den s\u00e5 att torkningen g\u00e5r snabbare. F\u00f6rs\u00f6ka f\u00e5 b\u00e5da styckena s\u00e5 j\u00e4mntjocka som m\u00f6jligt. Sedan \u00e4r det bara att sm\u00f6rja in k\u00f6ttet i vin\u00e4ger. Jag anv\u00e4nde balsamvin\u00e4ger, men vilken sort som helst g\u00e5r bra. N\u00e4r b\u00e5da sidorna \u00e4r t\u00e4ckta med vin\u00e4ger \u00e4r det salt som ska p\u00e5. Hur mycket salt som g\u00e5r \u00e5t \u00e4r sv\u00e5rt att uppskatta, men det ska vara rikligt utan att f\u00f6r den sakens skull &#8220;dr\u00e4nka&#8221; k\u00f6ttet i salt. Salta b\u00e5da sidorna.<br \/>\nHur mycket koriander som ska anv\u00e4ndas \u00e4r v\u00e4l egentligen bara en smaksak. Personligen hade jag s\u00e5 mycket p\u00e5 s\u00e5 att det blev ett tunt t\u00e4cke. Precis som med koriandern s\u00e5 \u00e4r svartpeppar ut efter smak. Sedan \u00e4r det bara att l\u00e5ta det torka. Jag anv\u00e4nde min torkl\u00e5da f\u00f6r detta, men det g\u00e5r att g\u00f6ra p\u00e5 m\u00e5nga andra s\u00e4tt. De f\u00f6rsta dagarna luktade det h\u00e4rligt av koriander i k\u00e4llaren, men sedan f\u00f6rsvann lukten helt.<br \/>\nEfter tv\u00e5 veckor var k\u00f6ttet klart. En h\u00e5rd yta hade nu formats, men k\u00f6ttet inuti var mjukt och m\u00f6rt inuti. Hur det smakade? Jag vet inte hur jag ska beskriva det, men det smakade inte vad jag f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntade mig med tanke p\u00e5 ingredienserna.
